When did it start, what else is on that circuit, what changed recently?

We test the circuit and follow it back to the actual problem, not just the symptom.

You'll know what failed, why, and what we did so it doesn't happen again.

“I hired Pacific NW Electric to fix power out in half of my home. When John arrived he quickly diagnosed the problem… John was persistent with PGE and they agreed to check their connections on the pole. John was right, PGE had a loose connection on the pole.”

Have a different question? Call 503-583-8050.
Usually it's too much on one circuit, a short or ground fault somewhere on the line, or a breaker that's wearing out. A tripping breaker is doing its job, so don't just keep resetting it. Have it checked.
Yes. A warm outlet, plug or switch plate usually means a loose or failing connection. Stop using it, turn off the breaker if you can, and call us.
It can be as simple as a loose bulb or an incompatible dimmer, or as serious as a loose connection in the panel. If several rooms flicker at once, call us soon.
Unplug everything on that outlet and try again. If it still won't reset, there may be a ground fault on the circuit or the GFCI has failed, and we can find which.
Call and tell us what's happening. Photos of the outlet, switch or panel help us come prepared.
